Olympics Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words

Olympics - Term Paper Example In the occasion, the games will take two group association strategies. There would be a beach front bunch for ice occasions in Sochi, and a mountain group situated in the Krasnaya Polyana Mountains (Nauright and Charles 76). There are desires this sort of course of action would make the games one of the most reduced Olympic Committee has ever composed. The Sochi Olympic Park development is along the Black Sea coast in the Imeretinskaya Valley. This is the place all ice scenes would occur. These incorporate the Bolshoi Ice Palace, the Sochi Olympic Skating community, the Maly Ice Palace, the Olympic Oval, the Olympic Curling Center, the Central Stadium, and the primary Olympic Village. In the mountain bunch in Krasnaya Polyana, this would be the home of all skiing and sliding games exercises (Hofstetter 78). The groundwork for these games has activated development of new and present day broadcast communications, electric force, new Olympic Park along the shore of Black ocean, and tran sportation frameworks. Ladies acrobatic would include and true to form, the China Women gymnastic crew would shake the occasion (Franks 88). They have recently placed some separation on different contenders in past Olympic Gymnasium rivalries. Group objective or assignment †Level of trouble In request to reproduce the astonishing minutes that provoked the ladies vaulting crew of China to be marked extraordinary, there should be a greater amount of what this ladies group have been doing. This really calls for fussbudget consciousness of the abilities should have been a top competitor in the 2014 Sochi Olympics. The ladies groups needs decoration, and for that brilliant award to drop by, they realize that not just careful arrangements and practices will come bringing in the ensuing days yet in addition their bodies need to arrive at that elevated level of adaptability (Coma?neci 64). Since the achieving number four in Olympics rivalries for China ladies tumbling in 2012, there ha s been that weight and quest for the whole group to arrive at that degree of flawlessness. The group can win everything by creating a staggering presentation as well as achieving the degree of immaculate execution. The team’s lead trainer Lu Shanzhen, would need a rehash of the 1996 edge of practically close to consummate execution over the most serious rivals regardless of whether it were not the Russians (Crawley, Sara, Lara and Constance 102). This went to a triumph in light of the fact that the whole nation, board and the seat group were excellent. The instructing staff and the gymnasts need to wake into reality that their most noteworthy errand and level of troublesome is the rehash of the measures once named by the Bela Karolyi, an unbelievable gymnastic trainer in US as execution so uncommon for 16 years of age minors (Nauright, John, and Charles 110). The China group involves a delightful bundle of individual ability, which demonstrated more noteworthy solidarity, men tal sturdiness, and fellowship to contend 2012 Olympics (Hofstetter 79). A similar enthusiasm and responsibility is a definitive objective if the group needs to avow completely its statures in the game of gymnasts. So as to place 1996 and 2012 exhibitions in line of rehash, the lead trainer is guaranteeing that the group stays a strong element in spite of individual gifts and aptitudes. There are no splits of envy and contentions among the gymnasts if achievement is their objective in 2014 Sochi Olympics. The group experiences singular qualifying by moving each other so as to arrive at the individual all around. This is the pre-preliminary exhibitions that have helped in tweaking the bests of these gymnasts and even makes

A House Divided Classic Reader Disagreements

A House Divided Classic Reader Disagreements This is a guest post from Rebecca Einstein Schorr. Rebecca is a rabbi, essayist, special needs advocate, and life-wrangler. When she’s not channeling all of the energy into her duties as chief scullery maid, freelance writer, and editor of a professional newsletter, Rebecca can be found reading. Her husband continues to marvel how it is she finds time to read when it seems that there wasn’t time for her to do the laundry. (Sorry, honey.) Chat with her on Twitter @RebeccaSchorr. Readers are an interesting breed. A passionate lot, we tend to have very specific opinions when it comes not just to what we read but how we read.          Exclusive vs. Playing the Field When it comes to reading, there are those who fall into the “one book at a time” category. They are faithful to whatever book they are reading even if something else catches their interest. They often have an ever-growing of pile of “to-read” books on their nightstand, just waiting until the current book is finished. On the other end of the spectrum, and that is where I am, are the readers who juggles a variety of titles simultaneously, dipping into whichever book fits his or her mood at that particular moment. They too often have an ever-growing of pile of book on their nightstand with most of them at some stage of “in-process.” Interestingly, exclusive readers assert that they would find it too confusing to read more than one book concurrently while the players claim that they are bored by being confined to one book at a time.          Movie vs. Book One of my favorite t-shirts proclaims “Don’t Judge a Book by its Movie.” And in most cases, I find that to be true. If I have read the book first, I rarely see the movie because I am not able to enjoy it knowing what parts have been excised. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule. Gone With The Wind, which came in just under four hours, required some major reworking of the book â€" including the omission of characters â€" in order to keep the movie at a reasonable length. Other books where the movie lives up to the book include To Kill a Mockingbird, The Grapes of Wrath, and The Color Purple. Many readers, however, enjoy seeing the directorial changes made when bringing a book to the screen. And still, there are others who are motivated to read the book only after seeing it first in the theater.          Marked vs. Pristine There are those who hold that the only way to respect a book is to treat it with the utmost care. They never break the binding nor dare make any mark in the text or even in the margins. Leaving aside rare, first editions where any such treatment will devalue the tome, other readers engage with the physical text in an intimate fashion. Underlining passages that resonate with them. Asking themselves questions about a particular point. Scribbling definitions of unknown words. Marking the book much the way an animal marks its territory is necessary for some readers to feel as though the book has become a part of them. Those first readers, by the way, are sometimes physically repulsed by such actions. I don’t understand them.          Location, Location, Location One might think that all readers begin to read from the very beginning. That would be an incorrect assumption. First we would have to define beginning. Is the beginning before or after the reviews? Is that the title page? The table of contents? The dedication? Some go directly to the first page of the first chapter and keep going. There are some who read the final paragraph so that there are no surprises. Others split the difference and read the first and last lines before going back to the beginning. I start with the acknowledgements. I like to get a sense of the author’s personality and one can tell a lot about an author by who and how people are thanked. I thought I was alone in my peculiar habit but recently was delighted to read the following by Alan Bradley in the acknowledgements for The Chimney Sweepers Come to Dust: Whenever I buy a book, I usually flip to the back pages to read the names of those who helped. Contrary to popular belief, no book is written in isolation, and this one is no exception. This is an author who gets me.          Printed vs. ereader A touchy subject. There are many pros to having an ereader. I have a recurring nightmare that I am on vacation and have not packed a sufficient amount of reading material for the trip and end up frantically searching for something other than the manual for the self-cleaning oven to entertain my mind. Certainly having an ereader makes this dream completely obsolete. There is a certain convenience to having an unlimited number of books in the palm of one’s hand. However, there are readers who enjoy the physicality of reading. Something seems lost when one crawls into bed with the eReader rather than a book. Also, a book’s weight often gives something away about the nature of the book. And that is lost when reading on an ereader where War and Peace feels the same as the latest Jodi Picoult title. I enjoy Jodi Picoult but it does seem that a title by Tolstoy should have more heft. Of course, one other thing makes readers a unique group â€" the fact that not only do we have such intense opinions about how we read but that we even enjoy reading about how we read.

Leadership Theories And Areas Of Application - 1719 Words

Leadership Theories and Areas of Application Leadership Theories The multicultural concept and path goal approach are two leadership approaches that are vital for the field of social work. In America, the country is made up of different races and ethnicities and is viewed as the most diverse country in the world. If social workers in this country used an ethnocentrism approach, then we would be a country divided instead of united, and only assist individuals who provide the opportunity for personal gain (Potocky, M. 1997). For example, if I only choose to assist African American women, then my goal to help them has more to do with their similarities to me, instead of being focused on the client, holistically. In Social work, no one gets†¦show more content†¦The environment is a fast paced, stressful, and dangerous. The leaders of the screening center need not to easily crack under pressure, be able to work in a fast paced and loud environment, and be able to use the best judgment when involved in a crisis and use diffe rent approaches in different situations. In this theory a leadership style is identified and in my environment the primary leadership style is transformational. The leaders inspire their individuals to achieve greatness and make the best decisions individually and collectively. At this screener center the leaders and team members are very aware of each team member’s strengths and weaknesses, which helps us operate better. Transformation leaders already focus on motivating others, and this theory focuses on the factors that will help the team expand and reach the goal at hand (Schriesheim, Castro, Zhou, DeChurch, L. A. 2006). In social work it is important to have leaders who can motivate team members and promote change as working towards a specific goal. The multicultural approach is also important at the screening center, because we assess a diverse population and we have to take in consideration that something like believing that a family member from the dead can visit a p erson may be considered a delusion in one culture and reality in the other (Levine, 1999). It is important to set aside one’s own beliefs about religion politics and other topics that
